Snow on the Great Lawn


After the most recent snowfall in New York City, I walked through Central Park to the Great Lawn. The snow looked like an inviting down blanket covering the lawn. The trees danced in the background with their barren branches. The midtown skyscrapers sparkled in the morning sunlight. The entire scene was so peaceful and wintery.

New York City received a light dusting of snow today. It reminded me of all the snowmen dotting Central Park after the blizzard.

Blue Jay

A couple of days after the substantial snowstorm that hit New York City, I looked outside and saw a blue jay sitting on the tree beneath our window. I observed the blue jay for quite some time before the bird flew off in the direction of Central Park. After, I sat down and created this piece with color-aid and gouache-painted paper.

Umbrellas


New York City was hit hard with a snowstorm a few days ago. It started with rain and the largest snowflakes I have ever seen! Colorful umbrellas livened up an otherwise dreary scene!
