This piece was inspired by the gorgeous spring weather we have experienced over the past week. To me, sunflowers symbolize warm, sunny summer days - and I'm certainly looking forward to those!

Bird in the Woods
I must admit that I have never quite seen a bird like this before. I did have a lot of fun creating this composition and working with the colors to create a bright design and harmony.

Blue Jay
A couple of days after the substantial snowstorm that hit New York City, I looked outside and saw a blue jay sitting on the tree beneath our window. I observed the blue jay for quite some time before the bird flew off in the direction of Central Park. After, I sat down and created this piece with color-aid and gouache-painted paper.

Red Rose
The inspiration for this piece came from the beautiful rose my husband gave me for Valentine's Day. After a few days, we changed the water and the rose subsequently drooped over. I thought it was finished, but after a weekend spent soaking up lots of sun, the rose bounced back to life and I enjoyed it for another week.

Ready for Spring
With cloudless blue skies, abundant sunshine and near 60 degree temperatures, how could you not feel ready for spring this week? I felt inspired to create this cheerful piece. I am certainly looking forward to the days growing longer and warmer in the weeks ahead!
