I'm really enjoying creating this series of gerbera daisy pieces. They are such sunny, bright flowers!

Tulip
Tulips are now in full bloom in throughout the city. At this time of year, you cannot help but smile as you pass in front of a building and spot a patch of intensely colorful and lively tulips. I cut out this tulip from gouache-painted paper.

Gerbera Daisy
This weekend, I walked through the Shakespeare Garden in Central Park which is already abloom with flowers. It was a bit cool the day I visited, and the tulips were all closed, I imagine to stay warm. It was beautiful to see so many colorful flowers. While I did not see any gerbera daisies in the garden, they were on my mind as I passed by poppies, bleeding hearts and other spring flowers.

City Dog Walker
Last weekend, I looked out the window and saw a woman walking several dogs. It always makes me smile to see dog walkers in the city with a menagerie of breeds trotting behind. I used recycled, gouache-painted, color-aid and construction paper to create this piece.
