Amaryllis
I have a beautiful amaryllis growing at home. For the past several years, I've tried to grow amaryllis every winter without much success. This year, my mother gave me a bulb that has amazed us all. I really can't take credit for its success; my husband has tended it daily with his "green thumb". There are two bulbs growing; one has already burst open with four enormous bright, red flowers and a second bulb is quickly shooting up. This is a watercolor sketch of one of the flowers. I'll have more amaryllis pieces to share soon!

Amaryllis
With all the bitterly cold weather the past week, I am dreaming of spring! I have an amaryllis growing that I envision will soon burst into bloom, as in this piece.
